Hysteroscopy

Transcript

Welcome to AED’s Feature of the Month where we showcase our high quality endoscopy products and services.

This month, we’re featuring our line of hysteroscopy products.

But first, what is hysteroscopy?

Hysteroscopy is the minimally invasive way to diagnose and treat problems of the uterus.

It’s performed to remove adhesions, fibroids, and polyps; perform sterilization; or to extract an IUD, to name a few.

The first hysteroscopy was performed in 1869 but it wasn’t until the 1970s that hysteroscopy gained popularity due to advancements in optics and fiberoptics as well as inventions of accessories that improved visual resolution.

What makes hysteroscopy beneficial to the patient?

For one, it’s less invasive and less painful than traditional surgery. There is less scarring and a lower risk for infection.

AED’s hysteroscopy instruments are manufactured to give the patient and surgeon the best experience possible.

We carry state of the art hysteroscopes, sheaths, forceps, and accessories manufactured from the highest quality stainless steel.

Our Tru-Vu hysteroscopes are manufactured with a compact objective system and are lightweight for easy use and convenience.

Our Tru-Vu mini hysteroscopes have a continuous flow system and a tear drop design for easy passage.

AED also carries a wide selection of other hystero scopes.

Our diagnostic scopes are 4mm that use a 2.9mm scope and 5mm that use a 4mm scope.

Our continuous flow diagnostic hysteroscopes are 5mm and use a 2.9mm scope while our larger continuous flow hysteroscopes are 6.5mm and use a 4mm scope.

Our modular scopes are 5 French, continuous flow, and are manufactured with a slim design that’s optimal for diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy. They’re also manufactured with a quick snap mount for ease of attachment, a tear-drop shape for easy entry, and a 5mm insertion tube.

Our compact single piece hysteroscopes utilize a 2.9mm scope and are manufactured with a 5 French channel and a 5.5mm round insertion tube. They also manufactured with a slim design that’s optimal for diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy.

AED’s modular hysteroscope is manufactured with a 5 French channel and a valve system that’s rotatable. It’s continuous flow and utilizes a 5.5mm insertion tube and a 2.9mm scope. The slim design is optimal for diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy.

Our operative hysteroscope is manufactured with a single 7 French channel and uses a 7mm insertion tube and a 4mm scope. It’s optimal for use with 7 French instruments.

Our other operative hysteroscope is manufactured with an 8.3mm insertion tube and dual 5 French operating channels. The scope is also rotatable.

AED also offers a multitude of forceps to use for hysteroscopy. We manufacture forceps with the biopsy punch jaw, tenaculum jaw, scissor jaw, grasper jaw, and the biopsy cup jaw.

Our hystero-resectoscope is manufactured with a passive action handle, 22 French continuous flow high-flow sheath with a quick snap design, and a ceramic distal tip. It’s rotatable and can be used with 12-degree or 30-degree scopes.

Lastly, you can select from three styles of hysteroscopy electrodes. We carry the cutting loop electrode, roller ball electrode, and barrel electrode.

AED hysteroscopes are compatible with the Essure procedure and are available with angles of view of 0, 12, and 30 degrees.
